# Cool Counter vs Span

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Span at 8 against Cool Counter's 1. Cool Counter's advantage is iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cool Counter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Span sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Cool Counter against 5.0 for Span. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Span has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Cool Counter ships an update fortnightly, Span every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
