# Sentence vs PDF Scanner

Sentence and PDF Scanner both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of PDF Scanner's written reviews are positive against 60% of Sentence's. PDF Scanner also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5). Sentence's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sentence sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. PDF Scanner asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Sentence against 5.0 for PDF Scanner. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sentence has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 60% of Sentence's written reviews are positive against 100% of PDF Scanner's.

Sentence ships an update every 8 days, PDF Scanner every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
