# Shelvd vs Simplreads

The clearest difference is rating: Simplreads at 5.0 against Shelvd's 3.8. Simplreads also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7). Shelvd's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shelvd sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $6.00 per month. Simplreads asks for nothing beyond the download.

Simplreads holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shelvd has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
