# X2Chat vs Orbit

The clearest difference is update cadence: Orbit at every 2 days against X2Chat's every 6 days. X2Chat's advantage is device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

X2Chat ships an update every 6 days, Orbit every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
