# Alt vs Took!

The clearest difference is rating: Alt at 4.8 against Took!'s 4.0. Alt also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 days) and ratings volume (48 vs 5). Took!'s advantage is review sentiment (89% vs 56%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Alt sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Took! sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Alt holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alt has 48 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Alt's written reviews are positive against 89% of Took!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Alt ships an update every 2 days, Took! every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
