# Tolka vs iRead

The clearest difference is update cadence: iRead at every 2 days against Tolka's monthly. iRead also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tolka sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and iRead sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tolka ships an update monthly, iRead every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
