# scentcast vs Perfumedia

scentcast and Perfumedia are too close to call on the numbers: across 10 compared parameters — price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.

Both are free to download. scentcast sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Perfumedia sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Perfumedia holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 2.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 13 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of scentcast's written reviews are positive against 33% of Perfumedia's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

scentcast ships an update every 9 days, Perfumedia every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
