# OFFSwitch vs Ember

The clearest difference is update cadence: OFFSwitch at every 5 days against Ember's every 9 days. OFFSwitch also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OFFSwitch sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Ember sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OFFSwitch ships an update every 5 days, Ember every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
