# Language Learning vs Gist

The clearest difference is update cadence: Gist at every 3 days against Language Learning's every 9 days. Gist also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Language Learning sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Gist sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Language Learning ships an update every 9 days, Gist every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
