# SaltStack vs Autonomic

The clearest difference is update cadence: Autonomic at every 4 days against SaltStack's every 3 weeks. Autonomic also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SaltStack sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Autonomic sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SaltStack ships an update every 3 weeks, Autonomic every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
