# DR vs Read.md

The clearest difference is ads: Read.md at none against DR's shown. Read.md also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DR sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Read.md sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DR ships an update every 6 weeks, Read.md fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
