# Shadow Security vs YouNotes

The clearest difference is update cadence: YouNotes at every 10 days against Shadow Security's every 5 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shadow Security sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month and YouNotes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
