# FlightDeck vs FlyStandby

The clearest difference is monetization model: FlyStandby at freemium against FlightDeck's subscription. FlyStandby also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). FlightDeck's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 1) and review sentiment (18% vs 0%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlightDeck sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and FlyStandby sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FlyStandby holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlightDeck has 1.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of FlightDeck's written reviews are positive against 0% of FlyStandby's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FlightDeck ships an update every 4 days, FlyStandby every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
