# VirtualHamster vs Ghost Terminal

The clearest difference is ads: VirtualHamster at none against Ghost Terminal's shown. VirtualHamster also leads on device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Ghost Terminal's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 weeks). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VirtualHamster sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Ghost Terminal sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VirtualHamster ships an update every 6 weeks, Ghost Terminal every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
