# SnagNote vs DefectPass

The clearest difference is update cadence: DefectPass at every 2 days against SnagNote's weekly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SnagNote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and DefectPass sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $19.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SnagNote ships an update weekly, DefectPass every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
