# The Informant vs XML Viewer and Editor

The clearest difference is monetization model: The Informant at free against XML Viewer and Editor's free with in-app purchases. XML Viewer and Editor's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Informant sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and XML Viewer and Editor sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
