# Centered Cardboard vs SlabDEX

The clearest difference is monetization model: Centered Cardboard at free with in-app purchases against SlabDEX's subscription. Centered Cardboard also leads on ratings volume (31 vs 4). SlabDEX's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Centered Cardboard sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SlabDEX sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Centered Cardboard against 5.0 for SlabDEX. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Centered Cardboard has 31 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Centered Cardboard ships an update every 3 weeks, SlabDEX weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
