# Blackmount vs Etched

The clearest difference is update cadence: Etched at every 2 days against Blackmount's fortnightly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Blackmount sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Etched sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Blackmount ships an update fortnightly, Etched every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
