# Notivx vs Local Journal

The clearest difference is update cadence: Local Journal at fortnightly against Notivx's every 6 months. Local Journal also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notivx sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month and Local Journal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notivx ships an update every 6 months, Local Journal fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
