# RE Esperanza vs Message Diary

The clearest difference is update cadence: Message Diary at every 3 days against RE Esperanza's every 2 months. Message Diary also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RE Esperanza sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Message Diary sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RE Esperanza ships an update every 2 months, Message Diary every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
