# Cortex vs Gear

The clearest difference is update cadence: Cortex at every 5 days against Gear's monthly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cortex sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Gear sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cortex ships an update every 5 days, Gear monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
