# CheapVPN vs Oversecure VPN

The clearest difference is rating: CheapVPN at 5.0 against Oversecure VPN's 4.4. CheapVPN also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (100% vs 80%). Oversecure VPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (21 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CheapVPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Oversecure VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CheapVPN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Oversecure VPN has 21 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of CheapVPN's written reviews are positive against 80% of Oversecure VPN's.

CheapVPN ships an update fortnightly, Oversecure VPN every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 20, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
