# Papersort vs smrtkbd

The clearest difference is monetization model: smrtkbd at free against Papersort's freemium. Papersort's advantage is iOS requirement (15.5 vs 26.1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Papersort sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and smrtkbd sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Papersort ships an update every 3 weeks, smrtkbd monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
