# ScanOnce vs Dimmly

The clearest difference is update cadence: Dimmly at every 5 days against ScanOnce's every 2 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ScanOnce sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Dimmly sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScanOnce ships an update every 2 months, Dimmly every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
