# Hourglass vs Countdown

The clearest difference is update cadence: Hourglass at weekly against Countdown's every 2 months. Countdown's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hourglass sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Countdown sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hourglass ships an update weekly, Countdown every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
