# Hourglass vs Countdown

The clearest difference is update cadence: Countdown at every 4 days against Hourglass's every 7 months. Countdown also leads on device support (5 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hourglass sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Countdown sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hourglass ships an update every 7 months, Countdown every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
