# App Lock vs QR Code

The clearest difference is ads: QR Code at none against App Lock's shown. On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. App Lock sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and QR Code sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

App Lock ships an update every 10 days, QR Code every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
