# Piko Chat vs TheFlap

The clearest difference is ads: Piko Chat at none against TheFlap's shown. Piko Chat also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (2.7K vs 210). TheFlap's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Piko Chat sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and TheFlap sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Piko Chat holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Piko Chat has 2.7K ratings behind it against 210, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 88% and 88% positive.

Piko Chat ships an update every 6 days, TheFlap every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
