# TextBack vs Ontime

The clearest difference is monetization model: TextBack at free with in-app purchases against Ontime's subscription. On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TextBack sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Ontime sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for TextBack against 5.0 for Ontime. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 1 respectively.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
