# VitaL vs Basic Intake

The clearest difference is update cadence: Basic Intake at every 4 days against VitaL's every 3 weeks. Basic Intake also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VitaL sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $34.99 per year and Basic Intake sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for VitaL against 5.0 for Basic Intake. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Basic Intake has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

VitaL ships an update every 3 weeks, Basic Intake every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
