# RE Venant vs SpectraScan

The clearest difference is update cadence: RE Venant at fortnightly against SpectraScan's every 5 months. RE Venant also leads on iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RE Venant sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SpectraScan sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RE Venant ships an update fortnightly, SpectraScan every 5 months. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
