# First Step vs UpSense

The clearest difference is update cadence: UpSense at daily against First Step's fortnightly. First Step's advantage is iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. First Step sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and UpSense sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

First Step ships an update fortnightly, UpSense daily. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
