# Solstix vs Sky Planner

The clearest difference is monetization model: Solstix at free against Sky Planner's freemium. Solstix also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solstix sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Sky Planner sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solstix holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 4 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Solstix ships an update every 3 days, Sky Planner every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
