# Secret Notes vs Ember

The clearest difference is update cadence: Secret Notes at every 3 days against Ember's every 10 days. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secret Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Ember sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Secret Notes ships an update every 3 days, Ember every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
