# MoltMate vs ScaleNote

The clearest difference is update cadence: ScaleNote at every 4 days against MoltMate's every 3 months. ScaleNote also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MoltMate sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and ScaleNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MoltMate ships an update every 3 months, ScaleNote every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
