# Vela Reader vs MyVoiceBook

The clearest difference is update cadence: MyVoiceBook at every 4 days against Vela Reader's every 3 weeks. Vela Reader's advantage is iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vela Reader sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and MyVoiceBook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
