# Doodle Genie vs Carousel

The clearest difference is ads: Doodle Genie at none against Carousel's shown. Carousel's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly) and ratings volume (14 vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Doodle Genie sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Carousel sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Doodle Genie against 5.0 for Carousel. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Carousel has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Doodle Genie ships an update fortnightly, Carousel every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 7, 2026.
