# Whimsy vs Unhappen

The clearest difference is ads: Unhappen at none against Whimsy's shown. Unhappen also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whimsy sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Unhappen sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Whimsy ships an update every 2 months, Unhappen fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
