# CamScan vs Backly

The clearest difference is ads: Backly at none against CamScan's shown. Backly also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). CamScan's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CamScan sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Backly sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CamScan ships an update every 2 days, Backly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
