# CompTIA Security+ SY0 vs Security+ Pro

The clearest difference is update cadence: CompTIA Security+ SY0 at every 2 weeks against Security+ Pro's every 4 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CompTIA Security+ SY0 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Security+ Pro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CompTIA Security+ SY0 ships an update every 2 weeks, Security+ Pro every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
