# SyntaxQuest vs Scrollread

The clearest difference is ads: Scrollread at none against SyntaxQuest's shown. Scrollread also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SyntaxQuest sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Scrollread sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SyntaxQuest ships an update fortnightly, Scrollread every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
