# LockProof vs Forge

The clearest difference is monetization model: Forge at freemium against LockProof's subscription. Forge also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.2). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LockProof sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Forge sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for LockProof against 5.0 for Forge. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 2 respectively.

LockProof ships an update every 3 weeks, Forge every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
