# Orthodox Fasting Guide vs Synaxis

The clearest difference is rating: Synaxis at 4.9 against Orthodox Fasting Guide's 4.0. Synaxis also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (63 vs 1). Orthodox Fasting Guide's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Orthodox Fasting Guide sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Synaxis sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Synaxis holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Synaxis has 63 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Orthodox Fasting Guide ships an update every 6 months, Synaxis every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
