# Humble Zen vs Lecture Recorder

The clearest difference is update cadence: Lecture Recorder at every 2 weeks against Humble Zen's every 4 months. Lecture Recorder also leads on ratings volume (29 vs 1). Humble Zen's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Humble Zen sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Lecture Recorder sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Humble Zen holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lecture Recorder has 29 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Humble Zen ships an update every 4 months, Lecture Recorder every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
