Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: TripRank at freemium against CurveRank's subscription. TripRank also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 28%). CurveRank's advantage is ratings volume (207 vs 11). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TripRank sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and CurveRank sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for TripRank against 4.7 for CurveRank. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CurveRank has 207 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of TripRank's written reviews are positive against 28% of CurveRank's.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
