# Drums vs BackBeat

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: BackBeat at none against Drums's 3. Drums's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.5). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drums sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. BackBeat asks for nothing beyond the download.

Drums ships an update every 10 days, BackBeat every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
