# PlotTwist vs ReadShort

The clearest difference is rating: PlotTwist at 5.0 against ReadShort's 4.4. PlotTwist also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 2 weeks) and review sentiment (50% vs 33%). ReadShort's advantage is ratings volume (14 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PlotTwist sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and ReadShort sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PlotTwist holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ReadShort has 14 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of PlotTwist's written reviews are positive against 33% of ReadShort's.

PlotTwist ships an update daily, ReadShort every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
