# Tally vs Dotly

The clearest difference is monetization model: Tally at free against Dotly's free with in-app purchases. Dotly's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tally sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Dotly sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dotly holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 4 respectively.

Tally ships an update every 6 weeks, Dotly weekly. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
