# HeroDay vs LightScroll

The clearest difference is monetization model: HeroDay at free against LightScroll's free with in-app purchases. HeroDay also leads on iOS requirement (16.6 vs 26.0). LightScroll's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (14 vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HeroDay sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and LightScroll sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for HeroDay against 5.0 for LightScroll. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LightScroll has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

HeroDay ships an update every 5 weeks, LightScroll every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
