# SunMaxx vs Primalyst

The clearest difference is monetization model: Primalyst at freemium against SunMaxx's subscription. Primalyst also leads on ratings volume (23 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SunMaxx sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month and Primalyst sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for SunMaxx against 5.0 for Primalyst. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Primalyst has 23 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SunMaxx ships an update weekly, Primalyst every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
